Maybe I haven't tried every tea store in the Bay Area but I've been to many and this shop is by far the best. Haymen is the man and can answer any question you may have about tea. Excellent variety of product, reasonable prices and ability to customize the size of your order are key attributes of Aroma. I've tasted a couple times and it's great but lately I've been in a hurry and don't expect the staff to go through a time-consuming ritual with me again.
Only downside is limited parking in busy Richmond neighborhood. -

I came here with hopes of discovering new teas and imagined the shop owner would be welcoming and inform me of their selection. Instead the shopkeeper made me feel kind of like a bumbling idiot for just standing there gaping at the teas. She did tell me that she would let me try the ones I want but in such a way that made me feel she didn't want to. So instead of trying and buying a lot, I just settled for the smaller samples and left. Customer service goes a long way.

Great tea selection and they give you samples if you ask. I always come by here whenever I want tea. Better yet, if you aren't sure what you want but describe what you want the tea for or what flavor profile you like, they'll go ahead and make a lot of suggestions.
Definitely recommend coming here if you want to pick up loose leaf tea. -

Awesome hidden gem in the neighborhood. They let you sample teas and they have lots. I was in a rush but couldn't decide so I picked up a few blooming teas that they had prepackaged.
Many teas with fruit flavors and higher qualities for those that are advance tea enthusiasts.
They definitely have a customer base, while I was in the shop, a return customer came in and just read off her order and waited for it to be fulfilled. -

You gotta love a legitimate tea place. I walked in and said my ailments and she (Ying) told me which tea would work for me and the benefits. I asked for some sugar or honey. She said NOPE this is a traditional real place. She said you need the taste the full flavor of the tea. I got a cup of the bitter tea. It taste very bitter but my cough seems to have settled down. She also gave us some information about the Pur Eh tea and why she enjoyed that tea. We had a sample it was very nice. If I lived in this area I would be a regular at this place.
